So this is my first stuck sparge, and it sucks! Ha ha. What do you guys do to remedy this issue?

I have the typical home depot mash tun, with the stainless steel braided hose deal.

    Ingredients:

    4lbs 6 oz briess 2 row
    4lbs 6oz belgian pilsner
    12oz flaked corn

I've tried resetting the filter, and vorlaufing, but it just keeps getting stuck. I've only got a couple gallons out of it, and I'm running out of time. Any advise will help!

    Thanks

    What was your crush like?
Did you do a mash out?
    Open the drain slowly?
    Do you have rice hulls?

Your grist wouldn't make me particularly worried about getting stuck.

A particularly fine mill might cause this problem, but if you are in a hurry then: heat up some water to mash-out temperature and do a batch-style sparge. I have had really slow fly sparges, but batch usually goes pretty quickly without any major loss in efficiency.

The mill looked pretty normal. I mill my grains at my LHBS, and they're generally pretty good about keeping it consistent. I didn't use rice hulls... I'm thinking I really should have! I didn't do a mash out. My sparge water was @ 165 and I fly sparge. Things turned out kinda bad. It's definitely not a brew day I'm proud of. Ha ha
