So if I'm drinking with friends in a cozy atmosphere, the beer will taste better than if I'm by myself in an alley next to a full dumpster? Well, goll-eee Gomer. Just facepalmed myself.

Where can I go to apply for a job that does research on the obvious?

Unless you have something different to eat during the day from one day to the next.

I had a professor at The University of Richmond that was a protege of Timothy Leary- Dr. Rhodenheiser- and he had great things to say about him. I meant absolutely no disrespect to the man or his legacy, which is a big piece of the late 1900s. Unfortunately, he is negatively targeted too much. His later life was what I was referring to. Back to beer now, sorry.

I really need to quit my job and start doing "research". I'd love to be paid to spend weeks, months, or years studying something that's kind of obvious.

I'm stealing this and altering it as appropriate for the next time someone starts a thread thinking they are the first person to bring up the "craft beer bubble".

P.S. great avatar, especially for that comment.

I think that most people replied exclusively by the OP's comments and did not read the actual article. They used aroma enhancers in each room, which obviously would affect a person's perception of taste. I don't even know how this passed the "sniff test" at NPR to be a featured article.

In the study they had different samples and did not carry the glass from room to room.
