I just picked up bottle of this beer and it is best enjoyed by late next month.

When was it bottled? I don't see a date. A reviewer cellared a bottle for six months,
and found the beer to be excellent.

So- should I drink it right away?

I didn't know that they listed the dates on their site like that, that's super useful

When it was the Stone 11th Anniversary Ale I liked it so much that I bought 2 cases of the Bomber sized bottles. The last bottle wound up being cellared for well over a year before it got consumed. Over time the hop bitterness fades but there is bitterness from the roasted malt to replace it. Even at over a year there was citrus detectable. However, I would not say that it either improved or got worse over time, just different. Still excellent but different.

That said, just go ahead and drink it now. There's no advantage to waiting.

Thanks for the reply. I will drink it soon. I will also drink the Stone W00t stout soon. Luckily, I picked up a bottle today.

I personally prefer SSR about 4-6 months past it's enjoy by date. The hops settle down and the roastiness shines.

Love this beer. But to counter comments above - I find it to be aces under a month and a half. After 2 months it's just another mediocre black IPA in my book. To each their own...

Whe then even buy American Dark Ales instead of Stouts?
