Sucaba / Parabola in MD

We're still waiting in VA for Sucaba. I'm sure it's sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for ABC approval. Velvet Merkin came here and sat forever, but got sent back because it was never approved. Very frustrating.

ctually, I think Velvet Merkin did get approved, I seem to remember some places in NoVA had it (though it went very quickly).

 

Velvet Merkin showed up at Shawan like 4 or 5 weeks ago. They had it behind the counter. They had Sucaba last year too so might be worth checking. I haven't been looking for it, so I'm not sure.

 

This was the word from a store owner in VA Beach. I'm not sure of the truth. Thanks for the clarification.

 

Yeah came and went in NOVA a few weeks ago.

 

Saw Parabola today at The Perfect Pour. $19.97 / 1bottle limit

 

Must be 2013 they kept in the back. No way it's 2014's yet.

 

Definitely 2014. It said so right on the front of the box.

 

It was sitting on top of the shelves. Only 1 of them up there.

 

Wow, wonder how they got that in before Sucaba?

 

If I saw that, I'd just assume they were selling the box for $20. Beer sold separately.

 

I was always quick to blast Perfect Pour, but I have to say they've gotten significantly more reasonable with their pricing. I hear they have new owners and things are now priced at least better than they are in MoCo where I live.

 

Oh, and where the fuck is Sucaba and how the fuck did Parabola arrive first??? Are we having our own strange version of an Ohio Hopslam incident??

 

I'd agree and they have always been hit or miss on pricing. They'd have some six or four packs priced the same or at least close to what you'd see in DC or PG County. And then other things that were more than even Montgomery. And something completely random like a $40 bomber that just collected dust. You'd see cases just sit for long periods of time because they were double the cost elsewhere. Never made any sense.

And I thought the were associated with the now closed place in Olney that was always crazy high on prices. Not sure if that was the old or new owner.

How is parabola making it before sucaba. This wasn't supposed to show up for about 3 more months. Im all sorts of confused!
