I had the same thought as John_M: This is a very generous and quite tempting offer, and if I can attend I'd feel a lot better about bringing an interesting bottle to add to the mix.

I split the HS with a friend in NY and he won the coin toss on the single bottle of Portuguese Brandy.

Obviously I can't tell anyone what to do, I'd just say keep in mind that this is a lot of beer to start with. Each bottle of Sucre is like a 6-pack of "normal beer", after all. My personal goal in doing this as a semi-public, fairly large event is to be able to try them all side-by-side without being completely obliterated. (But, realistically, still probably fairly affected.) My suggestion is this: I'm going to open all of the Sucres at the same time at 2. I'd recommend nothing else get opened until we're done with those. If anyone at that point still feels like they wants to open other stuff to share, I don't see a problem with it. (And everyone is taking public transportation / has someone to pick them up, right?)

Probably good advice.... but maybe I'll open one of the NG or HF beers, just as a palate refresher? Otherwise, that's a lot of rich, sweet, boozy beer.

I'm up for this today. I could bring a bottle to share as well, but will instead offer to buy a bottle or two of something light. Figure the Mongers will appreciate a little business.

Looks like I'm in. I will use public transit and I will purchase a bottle from our hosts. As you do.

I will also bring something interesting that I don't think anyone up here has tried yet (myself included), but no worries if we don't open it.

I plan to head out in a couple of minutes. Should get to BM not too long after 2:00, depending on the current monsoon blowing through Eugene.

Also, I know Kevin is a huge sports fan, so I plan to bring a special "treat," to make up for all the football he/we will be missing this afternoon. :-)

Thanks for making it possible. There were some gems in that set.

I ranked them: Rye, bourbon, port, NAO, Madeira, rum, cognac, tequila. Rye and bourbon were really close, though.

LOL! For me it was Bourbon, rum, cognac, rye, NAO, tequila, port and maderia.

The tequila was really a weird bird, and was very different from any of the variants I thought. In the end, that was what I liked best about it. :-)
