Yeah I was pretty disappointed. They posted on Facebook about how it won some award and that they were changing the label but also switching it to be a seasonal made no sense.

I guess but Im gonna suggest Ocean State Amber by Foolproof just because I like amber ales more than ipas though its actually more of a amber ale/pale ale hybrid.

I thought about that as a NJ flagship but I gave the nod to Boat...

My obscure pick? Wizard Burial Ground from Brewery Vivant.

But since they've never had a single beer from Michigan? A bunch of fresh Oberon should do since it just happens to be that time of year. Cheers.

If the weather wasn't too hot, then definitely Jack's Abby Framminghammer. If it was too hot, I'd suggest they come back when it wasn't so we could enjoy that Framminghammer.

Preferences aside, do you still think this represents RI more than Captain's Daughter?

    Budweiser!

    Real answer: Boulevard's Tank 7.

Tank 7 is pretty approachable for being a Belgian style. It's a little hop forward for hop heads, but not so far forward that an IPA loather would discard it.

Obviously not but Narragansett Lager represents RI more than anyone.

I'd love for us to somehow make a list of THE beer for each state like that, I know they exist but it would be fun to try and curate one here amongst us. Then it would be fun to try those 50 beers...:beers:

PS...I will definitely try that amber if I find myself back in RI.

    As others have mentioned - kinda depends on what styles these mystery guests are into...Ohio has some great breweries and beers.....here are a few I would recommend from the Buckeye State;

Great Lakes Dortmunder / Eddy Fitz
    Fatheads Headhunter / Hop Juju
Thirsty Dog Wulver / Siberian Night
    Urban Artifact Pickle / Gadget
Wooly Pig Schwarzbier / Helles Lager
Wolf's Ridge Daybreak / Smoked lager
    Hoof Hearted - anything!

    to name a few!

For Alaska, I was going to immediately say: Smoked Porter. But then I figured I need to be more fan-friendly, so: Alaskan Amber

This is literally happening this weekend; a long time friend and former craft brewer is coming over. I decided to run up to Gentle Giant in Pearl River, NY for some brews to go. #1- I enjoy them, and #2- they're not available in stores, so a special trip seems warranted. If I have to call one out it's the Dino Lager- golden yet deeply flavored with a toasty finish. Reminds me of a beefier Stiegl Goldbrau.

Technically it's another state, but still one of my most local breweries because I live on the border.

And #3 - it gave @TongoRad a reason to have to go out and buy beer, which is always fun

It depends on the circumstances I guess.

If we are just sitting around in my courtyard throwing lots back on a nice night, then Live Oak Pilz.

If I'm trying to show off just one unique and really good local that nobody has heard of...True Anomaly Wheels Stop Saison.
