We will be at Disney World the first of December for 11 days. We're staying at a resort - so no vehicle. We have found several services who will basically go to a grocery store, purchase your grocery list and deliver it (for a fee). I'd like to pick out three or four good 6 packs of beer among that order. Will be perfect after a long day at the park! So my question - is there any specific grocery stores in that are that would have a better selection that the others? They said they can pretty much go wherever we choose. I don't need anything crazy or rare for the trip. I was thinking Torpedo, Ranger, Sam Adams winter or maybe Anchor Christmas if it's available there.

Does anyone know if by any chance Boulder's Hazed and Infused is available in bottles there? I saw it on tap, so I thought I'd ask.

    Thanks.

If you have the option, choose Publix over Goodings. 99% of the time you'll be able to get the first 3 beers on you list. Probably no Anchor Christmas or Bolder Hazed and infused. They may be around the liquor stores, but not grocery. Other great options Publix "always" has are Cigar City's 4 canned beers and Dogfish 90. Most Publix stores currently have Sierra Nevada Celebration too. Publix will have a few other options, but for me these are always the best when shopping there.

A better option for you to explore the craft beer selection would be to grab a cab and head to ABC Apopka-Vineland. It's just off Disney property, has a decent selection, and while it isn't the best bottle shop in the area, it is the only one within an affordable cab ride of your resort. Something tells me if you have enough $$ to pay for 11 days at Disney and a personal grocery shopper, you probably have $$ for cab fare.

Thanks, BKnarr. I actually hadn't considered that. Great idea. As for $$ - while we are indeed blessed, like most families we saved a looong time to pull this off. And we want to enjoy every minute and stretch every dollar. And that does NOT include paying $6.50 for a Bud Light in a metal can at the resorts (x18 = $117!!) Lol. So - that cab ride or personal shopper will be well worth it! If we go the shopper option I'll definitely pick Publix.

I'm not familiar with Cigar City's brews. Sounds interesting. Have a favorite??

    Thanks for all the info!

I'm not sure how you're on BA and aren't familiar with CCB, but do yourself a huge favor and get a sixer of Jai Alai while you're there.

Cigar City's brews are wonderful. Jai Alai is my favorite and has been my regular drinker for the past 3 years or so. The other three cans than should be available at Publix or ABC are Maduro(Brown Ale), Florida Cracker(Belgian White) and Hotter Than Helles(lager). The only one I don't drink at least once in awhile is HTH, but don't take my word, lots of people love it. The current CCB quarterly beer out right now is Humidor IPA and there's a chance that ABC that I mentioned before will have it.

Awesome. I'm down with CCB! (anyone get that??) Lol

Intrigued enough to put that one on the list! May even get enough to bring a few back home! I guess I need to spend more time on BA.

    Thanks

I say the opposite of this pretty much every day. It's easy to get sucked in.

If you do decide to splurge and buy beer on Disney property, you aren't necessarily stuck with Bud Light. Every day there's more and more good beer to be found at Disney. If you have an iPhone, get the Beers and Ears app. It will give you the tap/ bottle list of any establishment on property.

You're gonna be in Florida, so drink local. Publix or ABC should have the usuals from Cigar City: Jai Alai, Maduro Brown, Florida Cracker and Helles Lager. Try a sixer of each. If you were planning to drink Torpedo or Ranger, you will probably find that Jai Alai blows them away (no offense to Torpedo or Ranger, which are great). Enjoy your stay!

    Ah. Someone who recognizes talent!

That's one of the coolest apps I've ever seen! And free! This is going to seriously come in handy! Thanks so much.

Is Sweetwater IPA or 420 IPA available at Publix or ABC?
