I was wondering if anyone new of some great beer pubs/bars/breweries/beer stores in or around Ommengang. Ill be up there next weekend visiting the Ommengang brewery but wanted to see if there is anything else happening nearby (festivals). Thanks.
I'd post this on the Mid-Atlantic forum and you might get better info http://www.tasteofthecatskills.com/ is 11/12th. If you meant the following weekend I don't see anything happening festival wise. That area of NY is kind of sparse beer wise--Ithaca and Horseheads are 2 hrs away and I've heard good thing about Galaxy Brewing in Birmingham but that's an 1+ hr plus trip
Brook's House of BBQ, just down the road about 15 miles towards Oneonta if you're looking for some good eats
This won't help you with bars & stores, but www.pubquest.com is my travel bible for breweries / brewpubs all over the U.S.
You're probably better off just hunkering down at Ommegang for a while. The beer is excellent and their brewpub food is quite good.
Cooperstown Brewery is five minutes from Ommegang: https://www.cooperstownbrewing.com/home.html I think there are only 2 bars in Cooperstown and they are right across the street from each other.
My Fathers Place in Oneonta keeps a nice tap/bottle selection but the drawback is their limited hours.
