Summer Shandy? Make Your Own!

I never knew I liked shandys until I had a real one... Leinenkugel's shandys are foul. Way too sweet. But make some REAL lemonade and mix that with a kolsh or pils or helles. I think it's pretty awesome. I rarely drink them... but I'm not opposed. Would be great for tailgating out in the sun or on the beach.

 

Anyone have a favorite DIY beer/fruit juice combo? Ive heard of folks blending zombie dust with OJ and raving about it, but being in MA, any zombie dust i can obtain will be kept pure. Looking for mixtures involving easy to find, year-round beers. Cheers!

 

Italian lemon soda and Victory Summer Love. Had that at a grocery store on sample and it was delicious

 

#9 with white grapefruit juice. Most bars will make it too.

(I also take my coffee black and ice cold, year-round)

 

When I visit Mexico, one of my favorite by-the-pool resort drinks is an "Iceberg".

Float some frozen margarita on top of a half-glass of cheap Mexican beer (usually Dos Equis).

It's a guilty pleasure.

 

Some people hating on shandies...but throw a saison in a wine barrel with peaches for a year and lines are out the door.
