I'm not sure about when the latest bottling was, but what you have is pretty fresh. The best buy dates are 5 months, so yours was bottled a little over 2 weeks ago.
I would imagine that would be the case. Most beers will have a 3-6 month life. Similar to I just picked up some St. Lupulin that had a 11-8-12 date, while others mostly have had a Aug/Sept BBD. Different breweries, with different criteria I suppose. I don't know how active Summit is per their twitter/facebook accounts. Might be a good option to get word from the horses mouth.
Just picked up a six pack of Saga. Drank one last night and good lord...I had to check the bottle because I wasn't sure I didn't pour something else. I liked it well enough when I bought it awhile back, but this latest six pack blew me away. In a good way. Huge hop aroma, almost reminded me of Founders Centennial. Really hoppy, and very good!
Couldn't agree more....this is quickly turning into a top 5 all-time IPA for me...it's that good....and affordable.....really, really happy with this beer....I liked the anniversary ale but this is twice as good in my opinion...the more I drink it the more I like it..
I agree with ZAP. The more I drink it, the more I like it. When I first had it and reviewed the beer, I thought it was good but not great, but damn if it is not growing on me more and more and achieving awesome status. The price helps out in some manner in this I am sure.
Summit Saga is best IPA at the price point hands down. Saga has become a trustworthy recommendation. I feel it stacks up against some six pack that fetch 1 to 2$ more. Now only if they knew anything about hedgehogs...SEGA!
