Ran into a few cases last week at the Wayzata Municipal Liquor Store. Haven't seen any in the city recently.

I had the #9 on the Summit tour this past Saturday. Completely underwhelmed and easily my least favorite of the series. But then again, it's not my style and I hope others are able to enjoy it.

The new Dunkel Weizen is AWESOME. It was released early and The Four Firkins in St. Louis Park has it available. I'm thinking about stopping by their release party tonight at Four Firkins. But I highly recommend picking them up if you can get some. Incredible job again by Summit!

And as far as the Summit Black Ale I just picked up a sixer of it last weekend at the Liquor Barrel. A few of my buddies did as well at surrounding locations so give them a call if there are any near you.

You won't have to chase this beer down. Summit made enough to go around.

Why the lack of enthusiasm? Not many American craft breweries have ever taken a crack at brewing a Dunkel Weizen. Is it the style, that you don't find exciting? Does it seem like "just another Summit offering"? What style of beer would you like to see Summit make? What would you "chase down" from Summit?

I don't think anything thus far from the Unchained Series is being referred to as "just another Summit offering." Everything from that lineup has been an exciting break from the year-round Summit lineup. That said, I would love to see Summit tackle one of the big and bold styles that are trending these days - a barleywine, big stout, a big Belgian, etc. Even if that meant an Unchained Series beer in a 4 pack or (might be a stretch) a bomber. I really think that would catch the attention of the younger craft beer audience. At least I know it would catch mine. Cheers!

I seem to sense a lot of people aren't into that particular style for some reason (or weizenbocks)..I love em and can't wait to try this one but I am sure it will be June before the horseshit distributors up north get it in...

Im excited to try it as well. New Glarus Black Wheat is one of my top beers of all time. If it's even close to that caliber, ill be happy.

I love a good dunkelweizen. We've gotten the last couple Unchained offerings here, so I hope this one shows up as well!

No lack of enthusiasm from me! I'm really looking forward to this and have enjoyed most of the Unchained offerings--in part because they aren't what everyone else is brewing. I find it funny that others want Summit to brew styles that many other breweries already have out there.

I'm excited for this. I wish Sierra Nevada would have sold their Dunkel Weizen outside of their beer camp packages.

SN Beer Camp was a Weizenbock, not a Dunkelweizen.
