Hello sheeple, Bill here. My mid afternoon post-gin radler libation ended up being Pipeworks Soleil De Saison. It occurred to me in that moment, as if all the IPA info-wars, Witbier thought-control, and Pilsner propaganda simply evaporated, effervescently enlightening my grateful taste-buds with it's juicy citrus and dry finish. It is a perfect beer to be enjoyed on a cool summer afternoon.

I ask you cynics, tell me what it saison your beer label, share with us your favorite saisons!

I have yet to drink a saison I liked. Tried many. Never enjoyed one. More for you, and more of something else that you like less than saisons for me.

First off, I love your avatar, because I love Bill Hicks.

Secondly, I just had my first Logsdon Seizoen Bretta. Delicious.

Notch Saison from Notch Brewing in MA is a great sessionable saison, love Jack D'Or, and I love every saison that Mystic comes out with though I think Saison Renaud is my current favorite.

I was going to try ESB this weekend, but then started think I'd pick up some New Holland Monkey King. Never tried saison, so looking forward to it.

One of my favorite styles, and as a result I've had upwards of 40 different varieties. These are my 80th percentile saisons...

    Tank 7
    Hennepin
    Love Buzz
    Saison-Brett (Boulevard)
    Saison Rue
    Saison de Lis
    A Saison Darkly
    Saison Dupont

The best part is that there are still so many varieties out there that I want to try... Hill Farmstead, Brooklyn Brewery, Funkwerks, Jolly Pumpkin, etc...

Would also love to get my hands on some Peche N' Brett by Logsdon. I liked their Seizoen-Bretta and have yet to crack the regular Seizoen that I have sitting in my cellar, but I haven't been able to find the elusive Peche saison.

Sofie and Hennepin are my go-to's, though I also will get Jack D'Or and Helios when the mood strikes. All are excellent in their own way.

Three cheers for Saisons! I ignored these beers for far too long and have made it a point to try as many as I can this summer. I have learned that they are both refreshing and complex and definitely worth exploring. Like barleywines, there's a ton of variety and many ways brewers can interpret the style. They can be dry and hoppy like an IPA, they can be musty and flowery like a pilsner, or they can be tart and acidic like a good sour ale.

    My favorites:
Saison Dupont ('cause it's a classic. The '57 Chevy of Saisons.)
Prairie Hop ('cause it's like a cross between a Saison and an American IPA)
Saison Rue (nice refreshing sweetness, but doesn't compromise complexity)
Prairie Ale (Probably my favorite Saison. There's a nice tart brett character that is not over-done.)

    When Fantome's on, it's on.

Peche n' Brett is a "newer" one that really knocked my socks off.
