I just had this about an hour ago for the first time and had the same thoughts. I read "farmhouse ale" on the label and it poured black and tasted like a porter!

Another vote for Avec Les Bons Voeux here. In fact, I just grabbed a bottle from a clearance bin for $7 last week. I guess they thought nobody would want a 2011.

Like others, I have had highs and lows when buying anything Fantome. But the highs are so high.

And I'll take Seizoen Bretta over Saison Brett any day of the week.

$7- Nice! The shop I bought out had all 2011s...for $10...but still amazing. I drank em all

I was at a bar that had it on tap. I almost sent it back for a mispour, before I looked it up on BA.

Hennepin really is an amazing summer beer, tried CCB's Cucumber Saison recently and wasn't overly impressed. But as a whole drinking a nice cold saison on a summer day is really a delight

Well, I must say I enjoyed it. Took a bit to get used to the "funk", but overall I like the flavor. Reminded me of New Begium Tripel, somewhat.

Three Floyds' Zse Zse Zse, and Saison Rue are the only two that I have had. Must say, I did enjoy both!

Ferme De La' Ville Provision From Block 15 Brewery Is my favorite, but Sofie and Rue Saison are much easier to get

I love sour but struggle with the funk in many saisons. That being said, if I had regular access to Prairie Hop, I'd drink the shit out of it all the time.

Just picked up some Tank 7 on my recent trip to NC and I LOVE it. I have very high hopes for Saison-Brett. My faves that I can find around here are:
    Helios
    Sopie
    Fantome
    Cellar Door

    Lots of great Saisons mentioned.

I just want to chime in with any Saison from Tired Hands or Hill Farmstead.

    Cheers!

I had a Fantome Saison over the weekend and I have to say it tasted more like a "horse in a bottle" than "sun in a bottle."
