Sorry to be a bit late on this, but Sunday River Brewing Co makes some decent beers - particularly their Porter. Love their burgers too. Went to the Jolly Drayman once, 1 beer was enough (didn't care for the atmosphere or the owner's attitude).
I have a place up at sunday river and lived in Bethel for 5 years. I'm sorry I didn't get to this post sooner, but I can answer pretty much all questions about Bethel you could possibly have. The Matterhorn has great apres ski, but the beer list won't blow you away, the pizza will. One of the best beer selections in town is found at the Mill Hill Inn, lot's of bottles, small tap list, great food. The biggest tap list is found at Sud's Pub, which is always a good time. Here's my top 5 in Bethel for food and beer. Food: 1. Cho Sun (some of the best asian food I've ever had) 2. Jolly Drayman (great curry, steak, fish and chips) 3. Mill Hill Inn (tapas) 4. Matterhorn (Pizza amazing, rest of food is meh) 5. Camp (Jordan Grand Hotel) Honorable mention to 22 Broad St, which I have not been too, but have heard great things, though expensive Beer: 1. Barking Dawg Market (yes, this is a market place, but no restuarants have great beer imo. At least here you have a chance of scoring less than a week old Rising Tide Calcutta Cutter, among a small but decent selection. 2. Jolly Drayman, not the biggest list, but well curated for a town like Bethel, great english pub atmosphere. 3. Mill Hill Inn (bottles only when I was there, good but tired selection) 4. Sud's Pub (largest tap list, but I am never impressed with what's on it, great atmosphere though) 5. Matterhorn (Best bar imo, but for atmosphere and pizza, not beer. They do actually have their own ski bar beer, but it's not great) I've heard great things about the new management, but haven't been yet. Last year I tried their seasonal DIPA and it wasn't bad at all. The Jolly Drayman is one of the best restaurants in Bethel hands down. The owner is a quirky guy, but always really friendly and will talk your ear off if you let him. The beer selection is pretty good for Bethel, but the food is what makes this place really shine.
I've absolutely loved the for at Sunday River Brew the last few times I've gone. I had been a few years back and hated it, but its been my favorite restaurant on recent visits
