Sunk Punk. Would you pay £12 for a 341 ml bottle?

  1. Yes. Its a steal. More valuable than all the bullion on the Santa Rosa.

  2. No, no James Watt. I am not a victim of marketing.

No hope in hell. I vowed never again to purchase any of Brewdog's special releases having tried two of their Abstrakt Series beers which were appallingly bad. I enjoy some of their core range but thats as far it goes. The marketing of that beer alone would deter me from buying it to be honest.

Are you a Birmingham Uni alumnus by any chance? Curry every night sounds nice - couldn't really afford that either when I was a student....

When I was at University I had full board (waiter service included) for £6 a week , beer was 7p a pint in the buttery.
Sounds great but I had to live on £320 a year which was my full grant

I was at Aston so lived out in Sparkbrook and Sparkhill for a few years

You could pick up a Chicken Balti and plain naan eat in for £3 in the mid 90's

If you fellt like treating yourself the £3.99 starter, main, rice and naan was an option !

I will point out I was working 20+ hours a week to fund my beer, curry and football (at the time) habits!

I actually tried to think of a less provocative word but sadly I couldn't think of anything quite as appropriate

Nowadays you'll be paying £4-5 for the curry and £1-3 for the naan alone! I occasionally cook up a curry which can work out at about a quid per serving but it's too much effort!

What we do treat ourselves too is every tuesday lunch time, having lunch and (just me) a pint of ale at cardiff camra's 2010 pub of the year  works out at around a fiver including a £2.50-ish pint.

when I was at University you could buy curries in advance, buy six get one free... a whole weeks curries for just £1/4s. Or get student discount at the secret curry house paying 3s/3d instead of 3s/6d. Beer was still under 3s a pint

Reading all this curry reminiscing makes me realise how deprived I was while pursuing my academic career.

Gentlemen who have the inclination to cook their own British Indian Restaurant style curries could do a lot worse than pick up some tips and recipes here...

I voted yes, I wouldn't say it is a steal, but I would still buy it. I think I paid about that for my RVP and I quite enjoyed that.

Now that I've been away from the immediate dilemma of that 341ml bottle of Sunk Punk there's a part of me that feels the £12 might be worth contemplating. But then when I think of what I got instead for £11 (Green Flash West Coast IPA, De Molen Isarina Esra Imperial Porter and Stewarts Could Reekie) those notions just fly away.

Honestly, I still can't be totally clear cut about it. Had been really really up for the Sunk Punk for some time but at £12 it was just a killer. Probably would have paid the price if it was a 750ml bottle.

Yeah, I wish brewdog would put their IPA's in bombers! A 330ml is never enough for me!
