As I'm sure many others can relate, I don't have the benefit of a basement or a cellar that stays cool here all the time. Where do all of you keep your bottles?! I'm starting to run out of good options.

Depends where you live in socal. I store my beer and wine at the Wine Grotto in Pasadena. I know guys in OC area store at Legends. Keeps it at a nice cool 55 degrees.

Maybe try Hi Times, I know some people store their stuff there.

For me, I went the route of buying a cheap, large, and used upright freezer and plugging a johnson temp control into it. Currently have 3 refrigerators and one upright freezer so it's probably not good for my electricity bills.

I'm in a condo now so the best I can do is keep them out if sunlight abs in places that are relatively cool. During the hot summer I tend to run the ac so the dog isn't tortured.

When I move to a house ill probably be using a fridge or freezer in the garage.

Depending on the size of your collection you might consider wine coolers or smaller sized fridges.

I'm in Temecula now and I've looked a bit into "climate controlled" storage facilities but their climates have not been to my liking. There must be something similar out here there given all the wineries around. Thanks for the recommendations. Having something built in to the kitchen or garage seems like quite an expense.

That's what I've been doing so far, but am finding myself running out of space. I don't know if I want to keep running more coolers. I can just imagine a heat wave and a power outage...

can't just go to a regular storage facility, even if climate controlled. Those are just climate controlled to 70s. Gotta find wine storage specific.

looks like this place does http://www.vailranchselfstorage.com/index.php/tags

I have several converted chest freezers that I use for my cellar.

I converted a stand up fridge and have some beverage fridges, but I'm at capacity now. I guess I haven't been drinking enough lately.

For anyone who stores at Legends. Can you comment on the experience and how you like it. It seems like operating hours and very convenient and the cost isn't prohibitive.

I've never used a facility like this and am not sure what to look for and what to potentially avoid.

If you're handy and have some space you can insulate you might want to look into building some storage:

I have a number of friends who use Legends and love it. They also receive packages for you for free, so you can get your beer shipments sent there directly.

My facility in pasadena (Wine Grotto) charges $5 per package =(. That being said, it's probably one of the most secure places to store your alcohol. A code to get into the parking lot. A code to activate the finger print sensor. Then you do your fingerprint and that lets you into the area. Then you have your own lock. No one be stealing my shiz.

That sounds very secure. What's the cost there per month?

mine is pretty large, it's roughly 11-12ft tall and about 3 feet wide, I pay by year, it's roughly $900 a year. It has 3 different areas

Here is how each area looks. I have tubes for holding wine (2btls a tube) and there is front shelf space about 2 beers deep as I've already run out of space ><. Sorry for the beer posing, I had sent it to my friend to confirm I received them :X. ONly photo I had at the time

    900? yikes

i store my stuff at The Cave in Glendale. http://www.thecavewinestorage.com it's around 170 a year I think.

I like having the peace of mind knowing my beer is stored properly, but it is also a pain in the ass going there. I find it harder to go through my inventory (I still have a lot stored at home too).
