Was hanging with a friend yesterday, and on Untappd they posted a pic of a sign at Fort George that had the phrase "RIP OPA", or something similar. My friend commented on his post, asking if they were dropping OPA. The reply was that they are brewing it on a smaller system now, and it won't be canned.

I really like this beer, but I've got to admit, I haven't really seen it much up here in the last year or so. That goes for most of the FG cans too. For a 2-3 years, the cans were all over town, and various FG stuff was on tap regularly as well. The more i think about it, the less I remember seeing FG stuff period. Which is a shame. We got 3-Way, and Overdub, but they're kinda falling off the scene up here. Are they pulling back in general, or is this a reflection of my local market?

That explains why it was seemingly being clearanced out at Huckleberry's when I was there the other day.

I see Ft George cans all over Seattle, but haven't seen OPA in a while.

If this results in more Overdub, I'm ok with it.

Still seemingly normal amounts of other FG beers in Spokane as well (or maybe a FG output downsize hasn't made it over the Cascades yet:wink:)

Just tried one for the first time (I picked up one as part of a mixed 6'er on Saturday), and I really dig it. Kinda bummed it sounds like it's going away.

It was my regular, everyday "drinkin'" beer for a while. Then Field 41 came along, and the fact (in addition to being delicious) that F41 is in 12oz cans, instead of 16s, meant I 'm more likely to grab a pack. I personally am probably responsable for a sales drop in Whatcom county.:flushed:

I still see their stuff around. Lots of Vortex, 3-Way (still), OPA, Opptimist, a few Omegatex and Cavatica.

I've seen all of the above at Met Market and Beer Junction on a pretty regular basis.

BTW, still really liking this years 3-Way.

finally found some Overdub, dated 4/20 (lol) but still tasted very fresh. the hype on that beer is totally justified, IMHO. really good. make more, Fort George!

Just got word from their sales manager that they're canning one final run (350 cases) in a week or two, and that will be the last of it.
