Oh damn tomorrow’s going to be a handful. I’ve got some Heady, SOS, Pliny, Habani, jeez where to start?

With a side by side, Habani vs Red Oak Hopgarten.

I dropped the third beer, too much beer in 16 Oz vessels, and Habani is 500 ml? Head to head man to man, but I’d love to have an Old Mecklenburg Capt Jack here, but I didn’t care fo a 250 mile round trip beer run to add a third. Interesting to see how a premium Pils fares blind vs a common local Pils that imo rivals any.

Homemade salsa, nachos stacked with fresh Serrano peppers.

I might do some clams casino for an appetizer, just to be different.

Just myself and my wife at home for the Super Bowl this year. She does not drink beer. I’ll be drinking a local, Galactic Rays of Haze an Imperial NEIPA from Untied Brewing.

My wife doesn't drink, but I have some Jai Alai, Bells Two Hearted, and a couple of cans of Greenpoint IPA (which hasn't been reviewed here yet); I haven't decided on the order of consumption.

    Enjoy the game!

After a dry (ok damp) Jan, just had a left over Celebration. Wonderful with 4 mos on it. Refined, crisp with good hop bite but a bit more subtle. Like an English IPA with an edge. Will definitely have one of my few left during the Superbowl tomorrow.

New Trail’s Cryosphere and maybe I’ll grab a single or 2 of a cheap AAL. On the menu will be brisket and beans (both made today) as well as shrimp dip. It’ll just be my wife and I.

So many great beers, I’d hate to be too tipsy before the Pliny. It’s been 3 years since my last one, that on tap at Monks. In bottles no clue 4-5 years.

Jai low and that might be the only beer of the day. Making wings and lasagne too. I will be sleeping by half time since I’m up at 430 for work. Should be another fun one with the snow.

Rooting for TB 11, Just want him to win without Bill.

    Enjoy

Picked up the New Trail Expedition variety pack, so I’ll probably work through some of those. Maybe a couple County Lines besides that.

I'll be having an M-43 or two and probably a Joe in Black, a vastly underrated Black Lager from a Lansing Brewing Company. I'll be making homemade chili with steak fries and cheese.

I'm working today, so I haven't given much thought yet to what I'll be drinking later. My menu for the folks at the group home will feature dishes representing all four of the conference finalists: Cuban sliders (Bucs), KC BBQ sliders (Chiefs), Buffalo dip (Bills), and dump cake (Packers). (Edit: ) I'm also preparing an Orange Julius knockoff. (See what I did there?)

As for the post-workday beer, most likely a big boy. I'm thinking Hopslam or Expedition Stout. For medicinal purposes, of course.

My first commercial beer (bud Light) in years. I have to step down from my usual standards to keep me at the same level as the mass just for one day.

Update: Wife is making chilaquiles, a personal favorite featuring a slow roasted citrus braised pork with homemade salsa verde. Boozy stout before still in play for dessert, but now looking at light lager to pair with dinner. Thinking Haymarket's Chicago Tavern Beer or Three's Courage My Love or most likely Chapman's Permanent Waves as it is a Mexican Lager

Nice start to a SB Sunday, a wee bit of a hangover. Not terrible, but nothing the hair of the dog won’t cure, but it’s my usual delayed hangover, wake up ok, a little tired, then I can feel it rolling in. Maybe I’ll take a Zofran to speed things up, there’s beers that need drinking.

A little off topic, but what are your thoughts on Jai Low? Haven’t heard much feedback round these parts. Compared to Light Hearted? Slightly Mighty?

I grabbed a 12 pack on sale for $13.xx. Only have had two so far, from the can. They do not taste as hoppy as All Day but finish quite nice and bitter. I’m a fan of these low ABV IPA. Not tried LH and SM was not to my like, it just tasted rich and sweet. My favorites have been Stone Go To , New Belgium Slow Ride and OB Pinner. Jai Low does have a bit of its older brother in it taste wise as well.

Need to have a few from a glass and see how the rest drink. If I can keep finding these at under 15$ I could see drinking a good amount during the summer.

    Enjoy

Picked up a new one, a previous one taste beer and a style I may only try once. In order they are Dirty Bastard, Stone IPA, and an Eisbock.

Dinner will be at halftime with simple black bean and cheese filled corn tortillas, quesadilla style with home made salsa. And the Jai Lai stays in the back of the fridge today, do not want to jinx the outcome.

    Go AFC - Go Chiefs!

Having a Founders Porter now. Will hit Weihenstephaner Hefe and Original. May include an SN Celebration and probably some Old Rasputin. Like the idea of clams casino. But, no clams! Instead, wife and I are having Buffalo chicken dip with tortilla chips, chicken quesadillas and skillet cornbread.

I'm at the end of a 12 IPA double elimination tournament. My daughter pours the beers so it is "semi-blind." Cigar City City: Jai Lai has worked its way through the Losers Bracket and is taking on Bell's Two Hearted for the Championship! Can't wait for kick-off!
