Super Bowl Squares

Three boxes (two from this BIF) arrived yesterday as Columbia Fedex continues to catchup from #icepocalypse2014.

First was a doozy of a box from @Levich. To vouch for the kind of BA Levich is, he actually apologized for the lack of a few beers! When you send these goodies, an apology is absurd my friend!



2 x Wormtown Be Hoppy IPA (I put this on my WANTs after recently receiving it in a box as an extra...honestly, this may be favorite IPA overall...shades of heady, but a little more citrus...if you haven't had it, you're missing out!)
Maine Beer Co. Zoe (WANT...never had, but love MBC)
Peche Mortel (another brew that will remain on my WANTs list)
Jack's Abby Mass Rising (WANT...this beer is so damned good)
Clown Shoes Porcine Unidragon (the only non want in the box, but certainly a should be want! BBl Stouts are always a plus)

This was a great box and won't last long. Thanks a bunch @Levich!

 

Next box came from @Blowofftube I think! One of the offerings is the most exciting to me, but I'll need a little assist from BOtube on it.



Short's Brew Captain Fantasy (love Short's brews...hopped up pear saison sounds good to me)
Hopslam (no such thing as too much HS)
________ (I will leave to @Blowofftube to fill in this blank, but presumably a homebrew...give me the lowdown before I consume it please! STOKED!)
Oddside Ales Morningwood Stout (Never heard of it, but again, when it says "aged in bourbon barrels" you've got me interested)
Short's Chocolate Wheat (this sounds interesting as hell...looking forward to it)

Hopslam sticker and some Bell's coasters complete the box. I'll come back and post on the homebrew after @Blowofftube lets me know what it is (and then I consume it of course!). Another great box from this BIF. Blown away by the overall generosity thus far. Thanks again!

The homebrew is actually an attempt at a sweet mead with a little buffalo trace bourbon, but can't tell too much.

Great box landed yesterday from @RKing44, after suffering through several days of icestorm purgatory that was Columbia, SC last week. On the front end, let me just say that even though this was not technically a trade, I highly recommend Rob as a trading partner. Packaging was excellent, double boxed, clean bubble wrapping, upright bottles and cans and even going the ziplock route on bottles. Given the icestorm we were in communication constantly about the blackhole that swallowed the box, so he's obviously a conscientious BA. Finally, my dude goes OVERBOARD...OVER f'n BOARD.

If my math is correct, that's 6 beers, each rated 100, which means the average rating of the box was something like 600!

Haven't had any HT in a good 7 or 8 months, so looking forward to those guys. Drank my last BCBBW during the bowl season, so glad to have another one.

I received a fantastic, unsolicited box from @jshusc. He had messaged me 2 minutes after Q3 ended where I would have won but the 2pt conversion gave him the correct numbers. I told him there was no reason to send, but he insisted. Packing was excellent and I can't thank him enough for the beers.

Schlafly AIPA (love the brewery, haven't had the beer)
2nd Shift Art of Neurosis (not familiar with brewery or beer, but BA thinks highly of it)
Arcadia BA Shipwreck Porter (Dark beer? Yes please. Barrel aged? Even better. Awesome)
