    I get it, though. He doesn't want to wait to see if a passive solution will work. Grab the bull by the horns. Patience isn't always my best brewing trait, either.

    Yeah. I get it too. And patience is easy to advise when it's someone else's beer.

    I just don't have any confidence that it will finish at the proper FG at this pace.

    Fermentation temp? And just as important are your thermometers accurate?
