    Hey Folks,
I have been storing a bottle of Supplication, batch 005X1 for about a year now. I believe on the old RR website, the bottle log stated this was from early 2010 (assuming 005x1 is batch 5). So with about 2 years of aging, is it enough time to notice significant change from the current batch (8, I believe)?

This is more than enough time to notice significant change. The cherry character will likely have faded a bit, and the bugs in the bottle will have had time to change things up. I personally prefer Supplication relatively fresh, so I'd suggest doing the side by side soon if you can.

Crack it open and find out for yourself! I haven't had older Supplication, but I do know that consecration smooths out and loses some of what I like in it fresh.

Good good. I was running out of room in my makeshift "cellar." Once I get over this cold and restore my sense of smell, I will do a side by side with batch 8 and report my findings.

Yeah, this beer will definitely "soften" up over time, but like others have said, you lose the cherry character that is so wonderful in this beer. The sooner the better I say.

On a related note, does anyone know if a link to the Russian River bottle log is still around? I couldn't find it on the new site.

Oddly, there is a link to the bottle log for Salvation: https://store-54e42.mybigcommerce.com/brews/salvation/

I had a bottle recently and i thought it was drink great now, i don't see how time could help this beer anymore.

I did a side by side with my batch 5 and what is probably a brand new batch 9 (I had only seen 8 until Friday). As a follow up, the differences were subtle, but 5 seemed to have some of the harsher aspects of 9 mellowed. There was a weird acidic almost vinegar taste that came in at the very end of tasting batch 9 that wasn't present in batch 5.

So in summary, I'd be happy with fresh Supplication, but with 1-2 years, it's a slightly more even, balanced beer.
