    Hey guys,
do you guys have any experience on the shelf life or the peak age for supplication? I am considering a few bottles on a cellar site – available are Batch 002 (2007), Batch 003 (2008) and Batch 004X2 (2009) opinions, thoughts?

I recently had a batch 004x2 and it was tremendously good. Good enough that all future supplications I get will be cellared around five years

You pick up any acetone in that one? I had a 2012 Supp recently that was good but definitely starting to pick up some unfortunate nail polish remover smell/taste. Wasn't overwhelming yet, but I didn't want to age it any longer for sure.

I had a three year old bottle side by side with fresh and the fresher one had a slightly acetic quality that the aged version lacked. Not sure if that was batch variation or a product of age.

I've had a ton of vintage stuff on draft at 'Tion night. Everything was good, no bad experiences like the T20 I had recently (though I don't think I've had any 7 year old bottles of Supp).

I'll never know, I like this beer so much that I can never seem to just leave it alone for more than a few months!

Definitely no acetone or oxidation. I think batch variation in supplication can be considerable.

Supplications, especially IMO some of the older ones get better with age. The 004x2 was a great batch. I can't say that I tried aging the other two. When I have done verts of Supplication typically the 3 or 4 year old batch wins out. That said I have had some recently from 2011, forget which batch as there were many that year, and it was good, but not what I recall from older batches.

Recently did a vertical from batch 2 onward, and to be honest, I didn't like the batch 2 as much as the newer versions. Of course I was fully expecting the fruit to be only a memory...but it wasn't nearly as pucker inducing as I was hoping for. Just sort of muted altogether.
Sweet spot for me was around three or four years, but this beer is so good fresh too. I usually just drink it, but was putting together that vertical for awhile.

I've got a couple of Batch #3's left, as the ones I have had, were incredible! I did not pick up on any flaws or see that it was falling off. I need to drink another soon!

I just pulled a batch #6 from the cellar to test out, as it has just over 3 1/2 years on it. Will post in the cellar review thread once I open it.
