I'm saving for home brew equipment now and just realized I can trade in one of my college text books and get $75 Amazon credit for it. What's some good stuff to get on there? I'm not super familiar with prices of equipment, what's good quality, and all that yet. I'm just reading homebrew books at this point. I'm going to be bottling and have nothing as of now.
They have some good carboy options like this one- http://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Better...6XQO/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1335178966&sr=8-9 And this seems to be a good price for an immersion chiller but needs to be modified slightly to work properly http://www.amazon.com/Homebrew-Imme...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 Here's a good garden sprayer for sanitizer- http://www.amazon.com/Chapin-SureSp...EZBY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1335179367&sr=8-2 It also looks like you can pick up some basics like airlocks, carboy bungs, hydrometers, etc. I would stay away from buying ingredients through Amazon as you won't have any idea about freshness or how it's been kept. Local Homebrew Stores are good for that, or the big homebrew suppliers like Northernbrewer, Midwest Supplies, etc., as they turn over their stock pretty frequently.
get a starter kit, should run you in that price range. Most of the vendors selling the starter kits are just homebrew supply shops. Here is a cheap one that should get you started: http://www.amazon.com/Maestro-Homeb...?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1335181632&sr=1-17
