Founded in 2010, the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild promotes and protects the burgeoning licensed brewing industry in Georgia. We're small, independent, and traditional by trade, and we strive to create some of the most unique and enjoyable brews for you. Most other states, including our neighboring states of North Carolina and South Carolina, recognize that local craft brewing is an engine of development and economic progress. But as other states support their local craft brewers and build on the success of their booming craft beer industries, Georgia continues to lag behind because our state laws and regulations are out-of-date and inhospitable to craft beer entrepreneurs. Georgia’s laws and regulations governing the production and sale of craft beer need to be modernized and brought into the 21st Century!

We're working hard to modernize our legal and regulatory structures here in Georgia, and we need your help!

What We Need & What You Get

·Every penny of the money we receive through this Indiegogo campaign will be used to fund our legislative reform efforts, including the hiring of a lobbyist on behalf of the Georgia Craft Brewer's Guild and its members. Please note that your contribution is NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE because it will be used to support our political lobbying efforts.

    · Our lobbyist will work closely with Georgia’s craft breweries and the General Assembly to push forward the types of legislative reforms that have helped to create strong and thriving craft beer industries in the rest of the country.

    · We have specially created stickers, hats, koozies, glassware, growlers, events, and activities that will get you involved with some of your favorite Georgia breweries!

·Regardless of the amount of funds brought in, the money still goes to the same place—lobbying efforts for the 2014/2015 session.

    Risks & Challenges

Georgia brewers have been operating under a strict three-tier system for years. Although we understand and value the relationship we have with our distributors, we also see the need for change. We are all small businesses. It may not seem like it when you visit your local brewery, but with the current system in place breweries have to fight every day to stay open. The freedom to have limited sales for off-premises consumption and pint sales at breweries would help many of our small craft brewers to pay the bills and keep their operations brewing. This means you could go enjoy a beer at your local brewery and leave with a six-pack for later.

The extra financial help would in turn give us the ability to purchase more tanks, better equipment, and hire more people. This growth would allow Georgia craft brewers to compete on a more level playing filed with the rest of our nation’s craft brewers. We are not trying to "unravel the system" or seek some advantage over anyone else. We are only trying to provide small, local businesses with a fair and fighting chance! We need your financial support to push for sensible and fair modernization of Georgia’s outdated laws and regulations.
