Support SB85 for GA Breweries

Moon River, in the historic district, is a brewpub that sells food, so you can go there and have a flight, drink pints, etc. All the other breweries are distribution breweries and you will have to check their hours and go on a tour day. You can typically find local beer at various bars and restaurants pretty easily around town, though.

I go to Savannah a few times a month for work - let me know if you need any suggestions.

 

I had Moon River on my list. Unfortunately, none of the other breweries had tours available during the (admittedly quite limited) time I'm going to be there. My first time in Savannah, but maybe another trip someday.

 

Another thing to keep in mind... Everyone is so fed up with "tours" that most breweries will make you purchase tickets for beer and you will not actually have to take a tour. If you want beer to go (key) this is when a brewery might make you take a short tour or just sign a sheet while they ask you questions. I sign and say I am a brewer (actually am) and walk out. I'm sure that would work for anyone. Don't let this temporary tour thing keep you from breweries. It's actually a great deal, pay $12-14 and get 36oz+ of beer and not have to take a tour. Can't wait for Sept. 1st though!

 

Also, Southbound brewing company is open 5:30-7:30 Wednesday. They are putting out great beers and the head brewmaster worked at Sweetwater and Westbrook before opening his own. Highly recommend

 

Thanks for the info. But, I'm gonna end up being there in the beginning of the week and leaving earlier than that on Wednesday. I wouldn't mind a tour on principle - though I appreciate the potential work-arounds. I'm just gonna be gone earlier in the week.
Hopefully by the next time I'm up that way either the tasting room laws and/or my schedule will give me some more leeway...
