Surly Abrasive Release Info

Todd said mid December in a response to someone on twitter a while back.

 

My distributor told me early January for both Abrasive and Smoke. You know they've got growing pains and all. The good news is that they have started testing out the equipment at the new brewery, and should be brewing full batches their in the very near future.

 

Really hoping this becomes year-round with the new brewery.

 

Dang really? I know one of the last two years I had Abrasive on Thanksgiving. Was looking forward to that again this year.

 

It's not going to be Thanksgiving this year.

 

Wonder if Smoke will go up in price again?

 

It was out by Thanksgiving last year....doesn't sound like that will happen this year.

 

Bummer, first canning last year was Nov 15th and last was mid Feb.

Todd says they're shooting for mid-december.

 

About the same time the new brewery opens. Maybe just a coincidence?

 

No coincidence, they've said that they were waiting to brew Abrasive until the new brewery was open.

 

I actually meant that the Abrasive release could be the same day as the new brewery opens to the masses.

 

Damn, a couple of massive batches of Abrasive on the new system would be awesome.

 

Will all the posts about how it's not as good as before be in this thread or a new one?

Wow this move is hosing a lot up. No Wet, late Abrasive. What next?

 

More beer for the masses?, less production issues for Surly? a new expanded brewery?

 

Yeah, I'm not sure what this is hosing up...unless your Thanksgiving turkey has been traditionally basted in Abrasive, this really isn't hosing over anyone.

 

I can wait.
Plenty of other good beer to drink this time of year.

And besides, it'll taste that much better when it releases!
