Surly Abrasive Release Info

Can't wait until France44 has it in stock! They need to take my money!!!!

 

Unfortunately not everyone there keeps up with beer releases and will just read off the date that's on the computer. We'll hopefully get it Wednesday morning.

 

Hoping they get it in tomorrow

Picked up 10/22 from Cashwise in St Michael. Drinking pretty good.

For science, I will drink a 10/20 I also got today. Any maybe another of each for good measure since worked sucked so hard.

 

Rochester got a small shipment of 10/27 today. The usual locations. Hopefully, as Seefeldt says, Costco will see a run too.

 

Hopefully Madison gets it in this week. I'm ready to tell my LBS to take my money.

 

All of what hit Iowa so far as I can tell today is 10/20. We have seen TG shipments take a similar hit so I can feel your pan, MN. I miss the 1-2 day old TG the way you guys miss day fresh or days old Surly. That said, Abrasive holds up really well and the 10/20 can I tried today tasted amazing. No complaints. Just hope it's not a small run and we get more than what arrived this week. It's a great beer, and despite all the BP that showed up today, it's Abrasive that I'd want to repurchase later again, despite its high price point.

 

Just picked up a 4pk, this year's is every bit as good or better than I remember, just an amazing beer.

drinking some 10/20. pours relatively clear through the entire can. If i'm not mistaken, past years have had some yeast with second pour. either way, taste is as I remember: exceptional.

 

Question is will there be any November brewed or should I load up on this October batch

 

I don't know anything for certain, but one of their FB posts leads me to think this might be the only batch.

I picked up some Abrasive at Princeton's last night and the owner mentioned that he would be able to order it for the next two months, leading me to believe that we will have a normal Abrasive season.

It sounds like the last canning runs will be in early January.

 

Well that's awesome, I was a little concerned from the fb post. I too grabbed some at Princeton's last night and will continue to do so thru Jan then.

 

I hope thats true. Maybe someone can call or visit the brewery to confirm.

 

The owner is pretty in tune with what is going on and has a lot of friends in the beer community. I would trust what he says.

 

Anyone hear if Stinsons is selling it yet? I'm headed by there around 4pm.

 

Yeah, I was also a little nervous about the wording that Surly was using around the release, but I ultimately chalked it up to them trying to play up the scarcity to boost sales.
