Not that I would give it at 2 by any stretch of the imagination, but strangely enough I went to the brewery tonight and did not love this batch of abrasive. Went from there to Zipps and bought a 4 pack. The cans are absolutely fantastic.

I have a non craft beer friend who rates pretty much anything that he is able to stuff down his gullet a 4 -5 caps, so, theres that.

However, My assumption, they aren't a IPA person. I always love when people give a 1 cap rating for ridiculously good beers of a certain style, and are like "Awful, I hate Style XYZ " WTF, why drink it, ever further, why rate it?

Like Nograz, I us untapped as more of a reference for "Beers id Hit again" , If I'm really looking into ratings, Ill use BA Written Reviews

Back to topic, Abrasive, so hot right now, Abrasive

Did you see they brewed this back at the old brewery, where last year was at the new? I think it needs to stay in Brooklyn center...

I see where you are coming from here, but I have to say that from my experience IPA/Imperial Stout lovers are the biggest offenders when it comes to rating beers in such a manner. I mean all Helles Lagers should be as hoppy as IPAs, and all Cream Ales should be 10% ABV and roasty right?

Why doesn't Surly put the ABV on the can? The 9% ABV alcohol is very well hidden in this beer, and it's relatively accessible, so I think they would put the ABV on it, to let people know what they're getting into. They put it on Furious, and Todd the Axe Man.

Am I the only one that thinks this is useful?

I'll add kudos to Surly for putting the canned date on it (and most of their products).

So why not add the ABV? Any Surly employee lurkers have any comment?

My point exactly...delivered with a finely placed Hogan Leg Drop.

I just saw there's a national thread on this topic, but since Surly is local, I think the question on this thread is valid.

maybe he had it on tap through dirty tap lines. That is kind of how I felt last year when I got it from lyon's pub downtown. I've vowed to drink whiskey only there from now on, no more getting burned by dirty lines.

From what I was told last Monday at the MPLS Brewery...only Hell and Furious are brewed in there, I thought Bender was as well. Everything else is at the BC Brewery

Only Hell and Furious are brewed there on a regular basis. They've brewed a number of first-batch seasonal runs there, too.

On a sidenote, I think it's kind of awesome that those flagships bring such demand.

Nope, Costco always has great pricing on Surly. $12.99 Abrasive. 13.89 Axe Man. $7.99 Furious. $7.49 Overrated (I think) Darkness was $16.79.
