Nope, you'll be able to find it at any store that carries Surly.

Definitely. I've had older Abrasive that was great, but the 11/11 cans I have now are nasty drain pours. Don't know if it's age or something went terribly wrong at the brewery.

What's the consensus on how this is holding up? I had originally thought that the 10/28 batch was slightly better than the 11/2 batch - but I've seen a few people say those early batches are trending in the wrong direction. In my experience, Abrasive holds up really well for months...not sure why this would be happening.

I ask because I had a 4-pack of 10/28 set aside for a trade that has gotten delayed until now. Now I'm wondering if I should buy a newer batch so my trading partner gets the full effect.

I just drank the last of my 10/28 cans. It was still good and enjoyable but I wouldn't send it in a trade.

I was actually in a similar situation and ended up drinking the 10/28 and going and getting 11/20 for the trade. Everyone wins.

11/23 was waaaayyy better than 10/27 when I had them two weeks ago. Any news on when the last canning will be (sorry if that has been mentioned already)

11/23 was still really damn good last night

Taylor from Surly says they have released a 12/23 batch of Abrasive. Anyone seen it in stores?

I wish I knew why my case of 11/11 is so horribly bad. It's not THAT old...

Batch I had from October a couple of weeks ago fell off a cliff.

I drank my last 10/20 something the other day and man what a malt bomb. Like others have said definitely check the canning date's as there are alot of older cans out there. And for the love of God don't send anything but the freshest Abrasive out on trades. For a beer that usually holds up well for a double it doesn't appear to be doing so this year.

Definitely something went wrong with some of this years Abrasive. One I had in November was fresh and tasted terrible. One I had a couple of weeks ago which was less than 2 months old had fallen off a cliff. Others I had were great.

Yeah, sounds like my experience. The 10/28 and 11/1 cans were great, including the last ones which I finished in early December. The 11/11 cans in my most recent case varied between not good but sort of drinkable to malty Pine Sol nasty.

11/24 is a bit more pine than tropical but still pretty darn tasty!
