Excuse my ignorance, only been drinking craft for a year or so - is Abrasive in 4-packs? What's the price/availability like?

Yes, 4 packs. It was around $17/$18 give or take a buck or so. The first shipment was limited, most places only letting you get 1 4 pack. It took a week or so for it to start really rolling out and then it was easy to get.

I'm excited for Abrasive. I do hope with the new brewery up and running Abrasive will find itself in the year round category.

I'm not looking for a year-round Abrasive. (Although I love Abrasive)I just hope they start canning Todd The Axeman. That beer is one of the best IPAs I have had. I just think that would be a huge hit for the brewery.

I'd rather they do a 6-month rotation with Abrasive & another IPA/DIPA. Maybe Todd the Axeman (never had the pleasure) given how many people seem to love it. It would give us something to look forward to each year and the thought of Abrasive losing it's mojo a bit and deteriorating in a cooler for months would make me a little sad.

I thought Founders got it right with making Red's Rye a seasonal. It is a great beer fresh but too much old product sitting on the shelf diminished the "brand" and the experience for anyone trying it for the first time. A certain amount of scarcity is good for maintaining strong demand and also good for the quality of the product when talking about IPA's.

maybe founders got red's rye correct by moving it a seasonal but going from sixer to a 4pack and upping the price sucked and now it's a shelf turd.

I highly recommend you try a 3 way side by side: Pseudo Sue, Zombie Dust, and Crank from Cycle Brewing. IMO the 3 best APA made now. Crank is very underrated, so much citra its amazing.

Also will go out there and say unsessionable by revolution brewing is the first beer ive had in about a year that may stand up to abrasive, and is better than heady and double citra by HF... check it out.

    I LOVE 16-GRIT!!!!!

If the RR was a "go to" (ignore the avatar I just chose a random beer pick) for me it would suck. But for one or two purchases a year I'll trade fresh & good for old & lame no problem.

Damn. I usually trade Abrasive for Pliny straight up so I can enjoy both around this time of year. Looks like my enjoyment is going to be postponed a month...

Nova sells Sue for $6.99. Gnug was $7.99 but I'm pretty sure the price of that just dropped to $6.99.

That beer is so good, I almost feel bad for paying that price for it.
