Surly Abrasive

Anyone know of a store selling Abrasive singles. I want to throw one in a box for a buddy but I don't really like the stuff so I don't want the other 3 cans.

When I do this, I usually just buy the 4-pack and drink the other 3 myself.

Wait, I just noticed you said you don't really like Abrasive??? I'm shocked. I have no response to that.

 

Different strokes for different folks. I can tell it's a quality beer, but I don't like hoppy beer, so I don't buy it either. I usually have one on tap, say, yea, that's a good DIPA, and forget about it for another year. Similar to how I treat White Castle, but that's because my body takes a year to recover and my mind a year to forget.

 

I have a buddy who is the same way. He likes Coors Light a lot (not saying you do, or that it is a bad thing) and that is fine. When I bring over the Surly he takes a few sips. He respects the beer but it's just not his thang. Nothing wrong with that.

 

I get your point; to each his own, don't judge other people and all. But seriously what is there to like about Coors light? Other then the buzz?

 

On a hot summer morning, it's cold and refreshing in a tasteless sort of way. And only mildly intoxicating. Cheap too.

Anybody getting any oniony flavors this year? I got a 4-pack dated 11/27 yesterday that I'm not digging. I don't recall any onion in previous cans from this year.

I have had at least a 4 pack every weekend since it's release and it has been drinking nothing short of stellar for me. Even more so compared to past years. I did however pick up a 4 pack of Bender that tasted a bit off and checked the bottom to find it was brewed in early September.

 

Rochester is running out. There is more to be delivered soon enough though so I'm good.

 

It sounds like you are in the minority of people that perceive onion/garlic flavor from Simcoe hops, which was the primary hop used in this years Abrasive. Have you tried Devil Dancer? Most people with this affinity can't stand the stuff...
