This is the first beer (and one of the few) that completely knocked me off my feet! This is my favorite double ipa, and I live in the land of ipas haha. I'm going to trade for a lot of this stuff this year for sure!

I think Surly have this one right as a limited seasonal. Much better to buy a couple 4-packs when it is known fresh than have it linger on the shelves for months because everyone knows it will be around. Especially at the prices Surly charges.

Edit: I would trade all the Abrasive and Wet I could find for more Surlyfest. $4$ of course.

It won't be that hard to get, but I just want it asap. Four Firkins will most likely have it a day in advance from the stores by me.

So is this stuff hard to get? Or is it readily available for a few months?

I have a MN connection and need to know how quick they need to act. I just recently discovered the greatness of Surly.

There were still four packs sitting around last year in April in Rochester (70 minutes from the Twin Cities)... I bought it for the NFL Draft... I'm looking forward to it a little bit fresher because while good, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.

Abrasive is one of Surly's seasonal beers, and sticks around in the same fashion that their other seasonals do. That is to say you (or your friend) will be able to find it pretty much everywhere that sells Surly until they stop brewing it for the season. It will fly off the shelves upon the first batch being released, but subsequent batches will stick around. At least that is the way it has worked out the past couple of years.

FF, Heritage, Zipps, South Lyndale, BC Liquor and about 6 more places will have this on the day it comes out. This is not like Darkness, no need to camp out or follow a truck. I will wait until Blue Max gets it on Tuesday.

Is two day old Abrasive still good?

Ah ok. So I guess there is no rush to get it fresh since they are brewing multiple batches throughout the season?

I'm a huge fan of abrasive, and love the fact that it is seasonal. Same goes for Hopslam. It makes me look forward to January/February.

To put it into perspective, in a brief convo I had with the legend Todd, they brewed 240bbl of Wet this season. They will brew 60bbl of Abrasive a week for approximately 3-4 months. Tons and tons of this sweet nectar. The only thing that it hurts is my liver and my pocketbook. My pocketbook gets replenished every 2 weeks and I'm young enough that modern science will find a way to replace/repair my liver before anything bad happens to it! Cheers.

I thought this years Wet was the best yet. Gotta love those Simcoe hops.

Thanks for the laugh on the line about your liver. I'll have to use that one sometime.
