Doh, was hoping to snag some before leaving town for Thanksgiving. Ah, well - something to look forward to when I get back...

For the record, on a camping trip to Grand Marais this summer, I stopped in their local Liquor store. Sitting on the shelf for 12.99 was a 4 pack of 6 month old Abrasive. I bought it, and even at 6 months, it was hands down the highlight of my trip. I'd drink it with a few months on it without any complaints.

I'm confused, I thought Haug himself said in a conversation on Twitter that it would be out Thursday or Friday. Although it didn't mention a date, I am certain he meant this week (so the 15/16). Any more insight???

He posted Monday that it would be going out Thursday and Friday. I assumed it was this week as he was responding to a post that asked if we would see abrasive this week. We'll find out soon enough!

If you must indulge yourself in Abrasive without risk this week, id suggest you go to the release party at Old Chicago. For those gamblin folks out there, hold out to be one of the first to enjoy the cans that will inevitably grace the shelves of your favorite libation sales location within the next week. Personally, I'll be on the gambling side of things!

I've had the same experience. I've noticed that Surly hoppy beers hold up extremely well with a little time behind them compared to others. I doesn't bother me at all to drink a Furious or Abrasive or even a Wet a few months old.
On a side note, I just learned my son who lives in Austin snagged two Darkness for me at the local Hy Vee. Nice Christmas present!

Sorry for the miss-information fellow beer lovers. My post was way off. Abrasive will be hitting stores tomorrow and Friday. It is being packaged as we speak.

I hear this. I wont say Abrasive is over priced, moreso, i just cant commit to a 17 dollar four pk on my established beer budget. Just doesnt make sense for me when i can get a 12pk of IPA for 4 less dollars. I might have to track down a single can though

Would love a 4-pack of this when it hits the shelves. Anyone that would like to trade some away feel free to BM me.

    Thanks!

I had a can that got lost in the back of my refrigerator a couple winters ago. Decided to stick it in my cellar, and drank it a year after the canning date. It was still quite tasty, and surprisingly hoppy, though it had lost most of that amazing citrus smell.

I am a steak lover. I eat sirloin steak all the time. Once and awhile, I pull the trigger on a prime Filet Mignon, just because. Beer? Same damn thing.
