Surly Abrasive

    Has anybody seen this in the Golden Valley or NE Mpls areas?

    Just need to grab some for a trade. I know of one store but it's a bit out of the way.

    I've had a couple of trading partners asking about it, but after I warned them that it's at LEAST 2 months old, they are no longer interested. Just sayin'.

    While not "fresh", I have some from February and March. I haven't noticed a bit of difference between the cans. Would be interesting to do a blind taste testing of say 4-6 cans from different dates over the course of its seasonal production, though. I'm sure it would be noticeable then.

    I had an Abrasive from the 3/4 canning just tonight and it may have been the best Abrasive I've had yet. It's drinking just fine. Jump on it.

    You said it! Noticing a major increase in floaties tho. But doesn't detract from the goodness one iota.

    I actually noticed a LOT more floaties tonight as well. Wonder why? As you said....no influence on taste though.

    Sure, ship 'em out. They'll never know the difference between fresh and 2-3 month old Abrasive!

    I would have to agree.

    I had a 3/4 tonight 'cause I figure I needed to drink it or lose it.
    I was pleasantly surprised at how great this is drinking right now.
    Had it back to back with a fairly fresh Heady, and they were both pretty damned good.

    I would not hesitate to give one as an extra, but might let the person know later that it's only maybe 75% of what it is when fresh - but still world class.

    I thought I was done for the season, but think I may actually buy another 4 pk.
    I know NorthGate in Andover still had a rack of 3/4 last week.

    While I agree it's drinking fairly well yet, it's certainly changed. And that's from a 3\4 canning I had almost a month ago...

    I had my last can on Thursday which was from 2/4 and while not as good as fresh abrasive, was still better than most Dipa's.
