Surly Abrasive

    This beer holds up better than just about any other DIPA I've had. For kicks, I put one in the cellar and drank it one year after canning. It certainly didn't measure up to a fresh can, but it was really impressively hoppy for a year-old beer. Citrus had faded a lot, though. Tasted like a hoppy barleywine.

    Anyone know of any 3/4 Abrasive in Minneapolis or west/northwest suburbs? Stopped by several places tdoay and no luck.

    Blue Max had some on Friday but I did not look at the canning date.

    GF just brought back some Abrasive from Blue Max yesterday that she bought Saturday. Canning date is 2-?-13. The middle number is illegible, but starts with, or is, a 2.

    Had one from the 3/4 canning on friday and it is still fantastic. The beer is simply so good that it is still amazing even after 3.5 months, but when fresh it is obviously unreal. I won't soon forget the day I brought some back to Des Moines in November and realized it was canned the previous day!

    I agree with others saying Abrasive is holding up, I still have some from 3/4 and they are drinking as tasty as ever. Send it.
