Surly Coming back to Chicago?

Totally different beers so that's not a fair comparison. (For the record, I enjoy Abrasive more than ZD any day, though not by much).

 

I drank both last night and enjoyed them equally - though they are pretty different.

 

I saw Abrasive canned on 1/21/14 at Before You Go, last night. That's the newest canning date I've seen of this run, in the city so far.

 

Five cases of Abrasive hit Schaumburg Binny's today. A case of Lunch, too, but that sold out within an hour.

 

SL Binny's had the same 1/21 date.

 

Bottles and Cans also had 1/21 date.

 

I forgot to ask about Lunch!!!! 1/21 on Abrasive at Schaumburg Binnys.... Bought some anyway...

 

Got some of the 1/21 batch. It's awesome. Even better than I remember it.

 

Just leaving SL Binnys (BCBS tap takeover) and they've got plenty to go around with 9+ cases left.

 

Just had first sip. Excellent.

 

I drank some earlier. And now I'm peeing it out.

 

Orland Park Binnys has about 6 4 packs of abrasive at 17.99. Not a bad price, I payed 20$ in Minnesota before.

 

Abrasive is everywhere! Go get you some!!

 

Crud. Bought two 4-packs yesterday without checking dates at the store. Mid-December?

 

Pour it out. Shit is terrible.

 

Just grabbed a 4 pack at St. Charles Binny's with a canning date of Jan 29th. Seems like that's the freshest that has been reported for Chicagoland. Should be a tasty weekend.

If anyone in the NW Suburbs like Des Plaines or Mount Prospect area...Prestige Liquor's had a few cases of Abrasive last night and the Coffee Bender's in the cooler. Didn't see how much, but most likely on par with what Binny's is charging give or take a $1-$2.

Good thing to do for all you craft beer junkies is to check out Beermenus.com, add your favorite place to shop to get notified when they get new releases via email or type the beer in the "search bar" put your zip. BAM! Place pops up, give them a ring and maybe save yourself a trip or stumble upon a place you never heard of.
