Last year I brought a lawn chair and a propane sunflower heater. Wore long johns snow pants winter attire and was good. Obviously a little cold but it is down with a wall that blocks the freeway which helps hold off the wind.

I went to darkness days last year after the wife dragged me to 2 5k races that morning. I missed the wristbands by 15-20 min. Had to stay around for the general sale in the afternoon. With that said I'm planning on showing up at 4-5 am. What's the etiquette for the line as I've yet to be there before?

    Dipping Darkness Bottles (6 photos)
Darkness Day 2013 is almost here! We dipped Darkness bottles last Friday and Saturday. Thanks to Congressman Erik Paulsen, Josh Lemke, the 2013 Darkness artist, and all the volunteers who came out to help dip bottles! Darkness Day is Saturday Oct. 26. Darkness will start going out to bars & liquor stores Oct. 28. Check out Darkness Day 2013 event details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/528202887258238/

Have they announced the tap lineup yet for the actual event? Can't find anything. Anything new or BA Darkness?

They don't usually tap anything that will not last the whole day, so I'd count out BA DL. Really really hoping for Moes Bender this year.

Lots of people slept in their cars over night a lot of even running.

As for leaving the area entirely to go sleep in a hotel, I know if I was behind you in line we would move your stuff out of the way. I don't think many people would be cool with someone stopping by, dropping off stuff to build their place in nine then taking off to sleep in comfort and expect their spot to be saved in the morning

I figured. While I disagree with that since we shouldn't be punished for where we decide to sleep, especially since we'd be hanging out for hours doing bottle sharing, we've reacted accordingly and will be camping out on premise for the night.

Thanks for the information - it's been helpful in planning out the weekend!

Unfortunately Dumpster Fire may not be packaged by Friday...if it is it will be pouring...also they still haven't told us the style of beer that it will be

i know it can be a crapshoot to predict, but what do you think my odds are of getting some bottles if i just want to stop by in the afternoon for the 3:30 sales? what can i expect at that point in the day with regard to lines, parking, etc? surly's "pro tip" suggests that crowds thin out at that point in the day, but i don't know how much of a shitshow it can be once the remainder of the bottles go on sale to those without wristbands.

My buddy showed up last year after 4:00 and got four bottles. Get a beer or two and stand in line

I called the brewery and a nice gentleman read me the tap list for Darkness Day. Don't remember everything but what I could recall.

    Pepe Negro
    Dumpster Fire
    Cacao Bender
    Tea Bagged Over Rated
    Damien

He did say only 2 kegs of Darkness per hour

Also said 3 casks would be available but wouldn't reveal what they were.
