I was surprised to find bottles of Darkness at my local store after work today. I noticed that Surly started to distribute to Michigan, but it didn't occur to me that I would be able to find Darkness now locally! Yes, I approve of Darkness and Todd the Axe Man. Nice to have these choices in the rotation. I figured that others might want the heads-up!
Also thanks for the feedback. Will probably buy a bottle to try. I think it was a bigger (20oz+) bottle. Looked like a good tailgate share!
Thanks! Haven't seen darkness yet in Kzoo but we did see Todd, Hell, Furious, coffee bender & the hazy cans so far so hopefully it pops up soon
Seen em poping up on the SE side at alot of stores the last couple days. Grabbed one for $20 at Shores Canteen yesterday. Heard some stores are doing 1 bottle/person. Cracked it last night. Tastes fantastic like always.
It's not supposed to be hitting stores until today anyways. I'd keep your eyes peeled, worst case just seek out a trade with a Twin Cities local. It's at the point where it almost sits on shelves now.
Yea can still buy last years darkness in the la crosse area. Or last time I checked you could at some places. also I’m sure they’ll do another drop at some point too
Not sure where you are at but there have been several bottles hanging out at Mega Bev in Portage this week. I just grabbed one today & there were about 8-10 more sitting on the shelf
Thanks for the tips guys. Guess maybe I didn't miss the bus on this one yet. Surly just started distributing to MI last month and I'm stoked to be able to get the stuff again, had no expectation of finding Darkness, a top 5 beer for me.
Nah, you didn't. The 18 leftovers hit shelves a few weeks ago. The 19 version just hit in the last week here in the Chicago area.
2019. Gotcha, thanks. I was just curious if the Michigan retailers got it prior to to its scheduled release date in MN/WI. Looks like they did. It's a great beer.
