If you haven't tried it drink it!!! It's excellent now...as are 99% of the beers you buy..don't get so caught up in the "aging" craze that you forget to enjoy your beer!!

Where would be the best place to find a bottle or two near Roseville? My wife is in the cities for work.

I opened a bottle and I'm pretty darn sure it's infected. I've had rye, I've had milk stouts, I've had wheatwines/barleywines/oat beers, and none of those prepared me for this, in a bad way.

Tart with a very clashing finish. As the bottle warmed up it smelled honestly like garbage.

I emailed Surly. I know i'm not the only one, but I am hoping it can be isolated down to certain bottles, I would like to enjoy this. Not prepared to throw out $80 worth of beer.

Ugh, this is now becoming more of a trend. Keep us posted on what you hear from Surly. I haven't opened one of mine yet, but will post my experience when I do.

Bummer, mine tasted great, tons of whiskey to it, no tart or clash to speak of. Hope they respond to you in some way.

Had Surly Eight 6 times on tap at Dakota Jazz and was a phenomenal beer.
My first bottle tasted like brett was added, the 2nd was much closer to on tap, and now my third bottle... Brett, sour; exactly like the first bottle I opened.

I'm confused, it doesn't taste like other infected beers I've had. Such as CWBBS or CWPM... With Eight bottles, I clearly taste brett funk, barn yard, and slight sourness. Was brett added?? It's not "bad" at all, but it is night and day from what I tasted on tap several times. I hope Eight isn't infected, but I don't know how else to explain the dramatic tap vs bottle difference. Anyone hear back from Surly yet?
