Based on your prior posts like this one:
You said it was undrinkable. Has your palate changed?

Yes, I'd love it just as much. Would I purchase it as often. Probably, which is to say smattering between trying whatever is new.

I wouldnt purchase it as much, because at the $10/6 pack and $16-$18 12 pack price tier, there are wayyy more options. In the <$12/12 pack tier, there are not many good options, so Saga and Ranger really stand out. Also, I've been digging Sam Adams Rebel lately. They must be pimping it because its $12.99 everywhere right now, and a pretty damn good IPA.

Saga is not the best beer ever, its just one of the best beers per $. ever. Thats why it gets all the love, and IMO, deserves it. When I buy saga, its because I want good beer for cheap, which is a fair amount of the time. The law of diminishing returns says that saga is 80% good for $12. Day tripper is 85% good, but 100% more cost. That is why I buy a ton of saga and only some daytripper even though I probably prefer DT. Abrasive is 100% good, but 250% more. Im just making up numbers to illustrate a point, but you know what Im saying.

Also, whos the one that revived this thread. It was off page 1... let it die!

This is SO true. Lately I had started giving up on Furious because I had been having so many "bad" batches that were basically ALL malt taste and no hops. And no they weren't old cans. I gave it another chance by buying a 4-pack a couple weeks ago and it was the Furious that I had first fallen in love with. It had that hoppy flavor again. That's when I really realized that it's just an inconsistent beer.

I've only had one 4 pack and though I liked Abrasive more, I thought Furious was the perfect every day hoppy beer. I'm still looking an ipa with a similar sweet but not syrupy malt profile and haven't found it yet...celebration is similar but not quite.

It's not an inconsistent beer. It is in fact a consistent beer. It consistently tastes like Furious.

Meh. I personally disagree. I have it often and it's quite inconsistent. It's either super malty or it's the nice hoppy red ale/IPA we all know as Furious.

I am in no ways saying it's a bad beer. But it is brewed inconsistently. That's my personal opinion, as well as many other people I know, and I'm going to stand by it.

Maybe I'll email Surly and ask them if they would like to comment on the perceived inconsistency of their products.

I would say he's wise to stay out of the argument. What's he going to add? Either he says no they are consistent and people disagree, or he says yes and people get in an uproar about inconsistency at a large brewery. No one wins here.

I'm a big Furious fan, now and then - but one thing I've noticed is less particulates in the beer in the last year or so. I like those particulates suspended in the beer (mainly hop particles). I seem to remember Surly getting some new whirlpooling equipment around that time that may "clarify" the beer - but I actually prefer the beer less clear.

I never thought I'd hear someone complain that a beer is too clear outside of say a Hefeweizen. Now I've heard everything.

Nobody can tell me any different. Something changed. The last Furious I had tasted like a less floral, flat Two Hearted. Not hoppy or malty at all. And don't get me started on Overrated.
