T'was at the Blue Door yesterday afternoon sucking down $2 furiouses when the bar man said he just put on a special 5 gallon Surly keg labeled Hell with a hand written "F". No one knew what it was, but it turned out to be a rather hot pepper version of Hell. Alas, too many days judging "Fruit and Vegetable" beers at homebrew contests have soured me a bit on Jalapeno Beer, but I thought that someone on here would enjoy it! I personally switched to Surly Wet ... which is more my thing. I don't know the real name (I'm sure Todd will check in soon) but we dubbed it "Hellfire". J
I think I remember a post about the ABR fest and Surly had 'Fiery Hell' on tap. I did not attend the event but I'm sure others who did will confirm this.
I tried some at the Great Taste in Madison. It was really tasty. Spicy and peppery, but not too much so. I thought it was a nice twist on a nice beer.
I had it at ABR. It was tasty, but a little too spicy for me. Felt like I was going to get heartburn from it.
I enjoyed it ABR as well. Really liked it, mos def had a burn to it, but I dont feel it was too much of a burn though.
If you're in the neighborhood, Groveland Tap had Cacao Bender on tap as of midday yesterday. Interesting brew. Fabulous nose to it, taste was good (though not to what I was expecting).
