Idk, I realize most aren't a big fan of Syx or SeVIIn, but I enjoy them both. Had Syx last weekend and it's tasting better than ever(I'm sure lots will say that isn't a difficult task, lol). I kind of like being in the minority on these, because I was able to walk in and by a case(12btls) on two different occasions and got a nice discount for a bulk purchase.

    Sorry, I'm a ass.

I am in the boat of people that like SYX and Seviin. Especially now that they have some age.

Seviin is still on shelves around town. Thomas in St Paul has it.

I'd take anyone's SYX that didn't like it. You can keep your seVIIns though.

Syx was WAAAAAAAAAY hot young but it's drinking ballz ass awesome right now. 7 bored me so I let it sit for awhile to see if it'd improve, nope, got 1 more in my cellar with no idea what the heck I'll do with it. Probably open it someday to share with a bunch of folks so I don't have to feel sad halfway through.

Octopus balls? Yeah.. if you look closely, on the right you can see they write "Five Years!" in the second paragraph. Well, it may not be "five" but its definitely not an "eight". Good April Fool's...

It's funny the way limited releases go nowadays. It seems there are a lot of beer drinkers that are hyper focused on big stouts (especially barrel aged)/ IPAs. I respect what Surly is doing with their limited releases as they are doing what they want to. It would be so easy for them to do a 20K bottle run of BA Darkness or re-release Four as their 8 or 9 version and see them gone in minutes. That's not to say I've been thrilled with the last 2 releases but they were interesting and definately pushing boundaries.

I found my own BA evolution go - start with Belgians & Porters > get into IIPAs & big stouts > go overboard (including truck chasing & ticking rare stuff) > reality hits that it's just beer > learn to sit down and enjoy a Schell's Pils as much as a bottle of Black Note.

I will be searching for Ate when it comes out as I'm sure it will be something that goes against the flow in some way but I won't be mad if it doesn't deserve an all-fives rating. That said it'd be nicer if it was $15 not $20 a bottle.

I believe I read, on here somewhere, that they tweeted it's been delayed until May?

H8 will likely be around $20, you've gotta account for that barrel time.
