That backfired....was supposed to be a response to yamar68's last post. I'll just continue to struggle through this Hopslam and Carry On.

Perhaps you should migrate to the CA forum where the jokes are much more clever, i.e. "Midwest shelf turds". Yeah. They much more sofishicated. Yo.

Looks like Surly delivered more to a few shops today. Call your preferred bottle shop to check their stock!

If anyone is still looking, that is.

I just had this on tap tonight at Nomads. It was pretty good, but nothing to go seeking out above and beyond some peers out there within style. Probably fine to buy when it is released to support a local brewery and readily available, but not exactly the type of beer to track down against other readily available beers.

Opened my first bottle tonight. I'm not a total sour head, but I definitely dabble on the regular. This bottle
Made me feel like I was eating a Wilson's leather wallet, and I liked it! Once my taste buds picked out the leather flavors, it was all I could taste. Will be seeking out a few more bottles to throw in the cellar for when I need a fix.

Definitely cellar worthy. It should be fun to do a side by side with a 2013 and 2014.

I think they mean even less if the words are behind them, unless they are upside-down and this is Spanish.

Anyways, so we are saying this is still pretty readily available at most reputable shops, or is availability spotty?

You're not going to find it at the big shops. Smaller places, those not known for good beer, & hidden gems still have bottles of Pentagram tucked away.

Team Liquor in Shorewood still has plenty. Probably because it is priced at $23.99.

It's in every shop in Rochester if that matters to anyone. Andy's NW still had three cases on the floor as of 10 this morning.

There's a good chance. There was maybe a case on the shelf at Andy's Crossroads as of Friday. I know some of the other stores still have some.

Try giving liquor boy in SLP a call. Wouldn't be surprised if they had some left, though they are charging a lot for it.

I heard the price is going up everywhere next year. Is this true? A beer buyer said that the SLP shops could offer them at $18ish because they came directly from surly (no distributor). Everyone else got them through the distributor, who took their 20% cut, adding $6+ to the bottle.

This buyer said that surly is going to stop self distro soon and that the original stores around the SLP area will have to go through the distributor; thus higher prices in the future. Does anyone know if this is true?

If so thats a bummer. $18 is already breaking the bank. $24+tax = a Damn special night to crack that bottle. I wish it were ~$15 instead of $25. Id buy the hell out of it if it were.
