Surly Six

Surly has run some of their business through a distributor for at least the past couple years.

Other than MGM gouging, and possibly Surdyks (no idea what they charged for 6 but fuck them I'll include them in a discussion on price gouging) I don't think any stores are charging an unreasonable price. The cost from the dist. is higher than it is from Surly, so the price they have to sell it for will be higher.

 

so has anyone heard of other bars that will have this on tap soon?

 

Surly 6 is best enjoyed at home or at a bar only within walking distance of your house. One sip of this stuff and your over the limit.

 

Andy's Crossroads got a small shipment in today for those in the Rochester area.

 

Northwest part of the cities gets it from a distro. Think the name of the distro starts with an"D". From what Bill told me, it Has been since day one

 

Nope, not new at all. The self distribute to select store within the 694/494 loop, been that way for quite sometime.

So, Does anybody know where I might be able to pick up a bottle? I split a bottle with my girlfriend and we're on the hunt for more. We found a bottle at Dinkytown liquor but we're not sure if they have more, any suggestions on where else to look would be awesome.

Best bet would be some suburban stores, might get lucky and find a couple strays in some lower foot traffic stores.

I stopped in yesterday around 12:30pm and asked, then called around 4:30 just to check again, both times they said Thursday, that it wasn't on today's truck. They got it out on the shelf?

 

Just hit Andy's Crossroads, had about 6-8 left, limit 2 per guest. $24.99 each....
Barlow Hy-vee didn't have it on the shelf, and didn't ask if they were going to get it. The usual lady(manager I believe) wasn't there this morning. Not sure if they'd get it, still have Smoke on the shelf, plus I'm not sure how much Surly they move.

Apollo by Best Buy got a case in today at $24.99 per bottle with a one bottle limit.

 

depends where you get it, just like syx, some places will have it for cheaper than others, tis the nature of the distribution beast unfortunately.

 

Will it be on tap? I haven't heard anything about bars carrying it. If anyone has any information I'd appreciate it!
