Would it be alright to keep my Surly Syx in my basement fridge (60-65 degrees) for a year? If not what would be optimum local and temp. I have never cellared beer before.

I believe the optimum is 55 degrees. I think you should be fine for a year, I've forgotten some beers longer than that in my back fridge and they tastes great. Longer periods of time tho it's better to be able to control humidity as well as temp and light

I wouldn't worry about those temps. My cellar varies from 55-65 & I've had things down there for 5+ years with no issues (other than the regular 'this beer ages great & this one doesn't, OK, now I know').
