Surly Taproom open tomorrow, 6/21 @3pm

Taproom Time ​

Last week, Brooklyn Center City Council voted in favor of allowing production breweries to sell pints of their own beer in the city, so we're finally opening up a taproom at our brewery! Starting tomorrow afternoon, Friday June 21, the new Surly Brewing taproom will be open from 3pm to 9pm.


You'll be able to buy pints of Surly beer Thursdays and Fridays, from 3pm to 9pm, Saturdays from noon until 9pm and Sundays from noon until 8pm.

To kick things off tomorrow, we'll be pouring Hell, Furious, Cynic, Coffee Bender, Diminished SeVIIn, Schandenfreude, Pentagram and Smoke and we'll also have cans of Bender and Overrated.

We were also happy to be a part of the Northdown Taproom benefit for the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota, 'Lions, Tigers and Beers, Oh My!', which took place earlier this month in Chicago. We worked with the dudes at Three Floyds to brew a special Imperial Brett IPA for the event. The brew uses Simcoe and Chinook hops that Todd says smells like a "cat peed on the Christmas Tree", so we called it Urine Trouble. Watch for it at the new taproom, too.

 

I havent been keeping track of things. This is at their normal/old brooklyn center location?

That's a nice lineup! I hope they have Wet and Darkness on for awhile when each are released.

Not bragging, just saying that it was pretty chill and not packed when it opened.

 

I stayed home, and watched the storm blow the chimney off my roof. AKA nature's way of saying "you should have gone to the Surly Tap Room."

 

You win, all I have is a lake in my basement, but I did get to watch the manhole covers get blown off the street and five foot gizers of water shoot out of them. St Pauls biggest cop came by and put them back on so all is well in the capitol. Chimney thing reall sucks though.

 

So sorry for both of you. I hope your insurance process goes smoothly. The last two nights remind me that I should replace my present sump pump for one with a battery backup.

 

My core of drinking partners are either working, at cabins, or busy. Is anyone going to be there at 12:30-12:45?

 

Where in St. Paul are you? I'm up north camping and this has me nervous

Ryan, I'm right by Thomas Liquor and it wasn't too bad right here - my leaky basement has only the usual few trickles of water in it. A few branches down in the area, but nothing too big that I've seen.

And, on topic, did they bust out anything exciting for the grand opening?
