Ah that would make sense. I looked on Surly's website to check if an event was planned but didn't see anything. Might just not be updated yet...

 

Surly sold tickets on evenbrite or a similar site a few weeks ago to an event at the Brooklyn center location. I think this is what that was for.

Unless they relisted it, anyone who got tickets (they were listed as free) had it cancelled saying that it was never meant to be listed.

Had it last night at the BC brewery. Not a fan, I won't be buying a bottle to drink.

 

If that's the case, you should probably wrap it with duct tape or something. All that extra light will skunk your whole cellar!

 

Yeah, I struggled to find anything good to say about it. Sweet smelling with a strongly medicinal flavor. I will probably pick up a bottle for the novelty of it, but won't purchase more than that. As always, you might love it, but it just wasn't for me.

 

I'll be buying your bottle and showering in it. New thread: Beer to Bitch About. That would be nice as 99% of the noise would collapse into a single frame. Been hanging around for ten years on BA. If you are a newcomer or new in the past three years, understand that it's drifted: sour grapes, sad babies, grousers galore. Boring, really.

In the good old days, we rapped about beer not about our beer egos. Shame to see that spirit imploding.

"You should have been here yesterday" is a mantra I've been reading since the day I joined this site.

I thought Ten was very good, but it was also supremely sweet. Which is fine by me, I love sweet, I'd drink maple syrup if I could get away with it. Just leave some on the shelves for me, please.

 

Ten is sweet, but it's still a really good beer in my opinion. I'd definitely have some more of it.
The was is supposed to glow in the dark. Whether it does or not I can't really say.

 

Has a date been set for the bottle release?

 

I enjoyed Ten - yes, it was sweet, but it had pretty nice malt character and distinctive brown sugar type flavor

 

It should be in stores this week.

 

My worry was that it being brewed with Sassafras, that it would be like a hard root beer/sasparilla flavor (which I don't like at all). Do those who have had it get that flavor in Ten?

 

I felt it was really subtle, I barely picked it up and it seemed to work with the beer.

 

I did notice the flavor, but as noted, it was pretty subtle. Guess it depends how much you don't like that flavor
