Was hesitant to say it but same here. Also, much drier finish than I remember on tap at the brewery.

hmmm. Looks like I'll buy a four pack, crack one in the parking lot, then determine if I should buy more. Awesome looking can!

 

you know, i was thinking as people posted "$16! limit of 3!" that buying the limit was a bit of a gamble.

halfway through the first can, i'm underwhelmed.

7/23 can from South Lyndale.

With how many Surly IPA cans I drink, I'm amazed that I have never run into any carb issues.

Had a 7/16 from Pats Tap yesterday, bought 07/23 from South Lyndale 2day both well carbed and both delicious

 

Bought a case of 7/20 and have loved every sip of the three I've had thus far. Absolutely delicious.

 

7/21 canning. Holy grapefruit citrus smell. Tastes great.

 

I've drank several 2014 Darkness bottles, none of them sour.

 

Do they sell cans to go at the brewery? I'm visiting for the week and will be over that way Thursday. Not sure I'll have time to beer hunt on vacation.

 

A beer can be carbonated but not exhibit any visible head.

 

No MN laws are stupid and don't allow on sale of packaged alcohol at any place other than liquor stores and such. Growlers and crowlers are different though, but Surly is too large to sell growlers now at the brewery, again another dumb MN liquor law.

 

Sorry, that's a drawback of MN laws. Based on cases I saw in the store I stopped in at tonight and Surly's tendency to flood the local market when a seasonal hits the shelves, you should only have to hit a couple of stores at most before finding some Todd cans. Zipp's is just across the river from the brewery or there's even a MGM Wine & Spirits just down University from Surly next to Highway 280 if Zipp's is too far.

 

Thanks for the tips. Coming back from the Mille Lacs area tomorrow and plan to get a hotel Thursday for a beer tour of the city. Guess I'll have to include a few liquor stores in there to take home some Todd.
