I agree 100%! I have a hell of a time buying a 4pk of Abrasive at $18, but I'll buy a couple bottles of Pompeii at $8 each! LOL! I have a breakdown of all the prices per ounce on my white board *cough* at work *cough*. $9.00 bombers are the most expensive way I've ever bought beer (that I drink semi regularly)... and it's 8 cents/ounce more than Abrasive!

I don't think that will ever happen, 16oz cans are apart of Surly's identity and branding.

Buying a four pack from Surly is the same as buying a growler. So you are paying $18 for a growler/4-pack.

For Abrasive? Where are you shopping? Other than Target/Costco, I always see Abrasive $16-$18 for a 4 pack

I posted that Turtles in Shakopee has it on tap, but it also looks like The Happy Gnome, Blue Door pub and Longfellow have it as well.
I'm just as curious about price as I am about taste.

We know what is on the label and that it is on tap at some places.

I also know that Todd the Axeman returned this week, so I don't currently care about Xtra Citra Pale Ale right now!
When it hits stores, we'll know more. If it is $8-10 I'll let you know!

I'm surprised that more BA's haven't tried it yet since XTRA was at Winterfest and is at the brewery. I thought XTRA tasted very similar to Bitter Brewer (with citra hops obviously).

Saw it on the list at winterfest have not seen it listed on tap at Surly. Did you have a pour there?

I had XTRA at Winterfest. Others have said MPS Pale could possibly be the same or an early attempt at XTRA at the brewery.

Does anyone have solid confirmation on price yet? I heard from France 44 a few weeks back that Surly wanted to target $6.99. While at my local store out here in the sticks today, sounds like they actually got the statement (or whatever they call it), and they said will be selling it for $7.99.

    I hope it is not $8.99 - $10.99.

The original or the reformulated Bitter Brewer?

$6.99 would be a great price for an everyday beer like that. If it's tasty, we should have no problem keeping that flying off the shelves.

I didn't drink Bitter Brewer enough to know the difference.
