As soul great Clarence Carter once sang:

Love, oh, love, how sweet it is
    When you steal it, darling
    Let me tell you somethin'
    Now how sweet it is

So why would beer be any different?

This was not a "sweet deal", it was a pricing screw up that someone no doubt got an ass chewing for. Sucks to be them!

My grocery store was selling pick-your-own-6-packs but using the recycled 6-packs (like ML, BL, leinys). I filled up two of these with different craft beers, probably worth $12-$14 a 6'er, but was only charged the $4.99 for the ML 6-pack price.

Wow I never thought of it that way. I think I'll cry in my $1.99 DFH 120 minute IPA.

I bought a case of out of date Veldensteiner dunkel weiß in the .5L amber flip-top bottles for $25.
The beer was undrinkable, but it was less than half the cost for similar reusable bottles.

I recently bought a 6-pack of Gouden Carolus Classic bottles for $1.99 on closeout. They weren't exactly next-day fresh, but they weren't that old either.
I'd say that easily makes my all-time great deals list.

My store recently had Schlitz tallboy 6 packs for $1.75. They don't even normally carry Schlitz so maybe the distributor just dumped them haha.

I also found TenFidy 4 packs for $4.99 on two separate occasions at the same store. They must just mark it down to that price after a certain date.

There is a coffee shop and they sell individual bottles that you can open there for $5 OR take home (for like $2-$3). There were a few times that I bought the bottle to go, but I took it out to their outside seating area and popped it open.

The last post just reminded me. A true steal (vs capitalizing on pricing errors) that comes to mind is a place that used to operate near my apartment that has unfortunately shut down (not for $$$ reasons). But anyway they were a store/bar/sandwich place hybrid with some tables inside and out the back. They had the (at the time) hands down best growler selection in NYC. You could either buy the growler to go, or to stay (in which case they wouldn’t cap it). Price was the same. So 4 pints of a great local beer shook out to 3-4 bucks each with a tip

store in my town had 750 ml corked and caged Unibroue La Resolution bottles. they were a year old or so based on date stamp. marked at $3.99 a bottle I bought 4 or 5 of em. 10% dark Belgians wont be bad at that price.
couple other times theyve marked down some bigger beers at about a year old, but this instance always stands out for me

I was in my local grocery store and saw 6 16oz cans of Old Nations Boss Tweed (a solid 9+ % NEIPA) in the build your own 6 pack for $9.99. This beer retails for $17 a four pack...

This was at Coastal wine and Spirits in Branford. The La resolution is long gone, but they often have other treasures marked down in the 3.99 to 5.99 range.

Back in the day, State Line in Elkton Maryland used to run "kick the keg" specials for beers they felt had been on tap too long. I remember stopping by with two growlers one day, planning to fill them with two different IPA's. However, when I saw the special $4 price for a growler of Dupont farmhouse ale (forget which one), I quickly decided I needed a couple growlers of that beer, rather than any ipa available.

My Hy-Vee dumped a bunch of four packs of "old" TenFidy into a discount cart and marked them down to $4.00. Nothing like a nice, cheap shelf-aged stout, eh?
